Sep 1 (UCAN) Church people are sending thousands of postcards requesting clemency for a Muslim Sri Lankan housemaid condemned to death by a Saudi court for killing her employer's baby. Caritas Kandy, also known as SETIK (Social and Economic Training Institute Kandy) has been campaigning for Rizana Nafeek, 19, who was 17 when the baby died in her care. Sep 1 (Reuters) Sri Lanka's annual inflation rate, measured on a 12-month moving average, rose slightly to 17.3 percent in August from 17.2 percent in July because of higher fuel prices, the government said on Friday.
