Nov 11 (DH) PM Manmohan Singh�s decision to keep away from the CHOGM in Colombo is a serious diplomatic error. After much dithering the govt has decided that external affairs minister Salman Khurshid will lead the Indian delegation for the meet. This is against national interest and the best principles of foreign policy practised by govts in the past. The UPA govt has been known as decision-shy or prone to wrong decisions during much of its recent tenure.

266 BOI enterprises to lose tax holidays |
Nov 11 (ST) Tax holidays for some 266 operating BOI enterprises in 12 export promotion zones in the island will soon end with the govt deciding against granting extensions during the 2014 financial year. Sampath Bank net down 19% on loan losses |
Nov 11 (LBO) Profits at Sampath Bank group fell to 859 million rupees in the Sept 2013 quarter, down 33% from a year earlier, on loan loss charges. The group reported earnings of 5.12 rupees per share for the quarter. For the nine months to September the firm reported earnings of 15.30 rupees per share on total profits of 2.5 billion rupees which were down 33%. In the September quarter interest income rose 29% to 11.1 billion rupees, interest expense rose at a slower 20% to 6.7 billion rupees
