Dengue still on infliction |
July 8 (GDI) There have been 163 deaths and 14,750 people infected from dengue this year so far,said the Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA). The current figures of dengue statistics are more than double the number of last year. Energy Minister appoint committee to probe LECO |

Fishing industry expands |

July 8 (LBO) Sri Lanka state revenues fell 9.6 percent while day-to-day expenditure zoomed 34.5 percent driving the revenue deficit up an unprecedented 528 percent to 118.2 billion rupees, the latest official data has revealed. The finance ministry said in its mid-year fiscal report that revenues fell to 190.1 billion from 210.4 billion, and current expenses rose to 308.4 billion rupees from 229.2 billion rupees.
