TNA will get less than last time at the election

Mar 3 (IL) Though Ranil Wickremesinghe dreams that the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) would get more seats than last time from the North and the East, he is in for an unpleasant surprise as the TNA would get much less votes compared to the 2001 election, Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna member Vijitha Hearth claimed today during a meeting in Wattala.

The total number of seats that is in the North and the East is 31. Muslim parties led by Ms. Ferial Ashroff and Mr. Athaullah may win about 10 seats. It is impossible for TNA to win all the other seats in the Districts of Jaffna, Wanni and Baatticaloa. The reason is because the EElam Peoples Democratic Party is also contesting these Districts and Mr. V. AnandaSangaree, who is the Tamil United Liberation Front leader is contesting independently from Jaffna, he said.
