Church wants probe into purported attack

COA suspends registration of 15 elephants

Sep 30 (CT) The Court of Appeal (COA) yesterday suspended the registration of the 15 elephants ordered to be released by the Additional Magistrate of the Colombo Chief Magistrate�s Court and the Matale Magistrate until the case is fully supported. These 15 elephants were in the custody of the Dept of National Zoological Gardens to be produced in the cases. Devananda holds talks with EU Envoy

Sep 30 (TM) Fisheries Minister Douglas Devananda yesterday said he held discussions with European Union (EU) Ambassador to Sri Lanka Denis Chaibi and Head of Cooperation for EU to Sri Lanka in connection with the legal action against SL fishermen when they mistakenly or illegally enter into international waters. Health guidelines to be followed from tomorrow issued

Sep 30 (DM) The Health Ministry today issued a new set of guidelines under two phases to be followed in the month of October once the curfew is lifted from tomorrow. The set of guidelines under the first phase will be in effect from Oct 1 to 15 while the set of guidelines under the second phase will come into effect from Oct 16 to 31.
