Mar 25 (CT) Chairman of the Norwood Pradeshiya Sabha Ravi Kulandaivel has lodged a complaint with the Norwood Police stating that a private company is diverting the waters from a stream, coming from the mountain close to Dickoya Saanjimalai upper division, to its beverage producing plant, thereby depriving the villagers of a water source. Villagers say they benefitted from the natural stream until the private company siphoned the running water for industrial purposes.

Mar 25 (DM) Fines for seven traffic offences are to be increased to Rs. 25,000 with the aim of reducing the number of deaths caused by road accidents, State Minister Ashok Abesinghe said.
