Thambuttegama farmers file complaints against police
Mar 22 (Island) Five farmers who were assaulted by the police in Thambuttegama last month filed complaints at the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) yesterday. Police used tear gas and water cannon on February 28 to disperse around 2,000 farmers demonstrating against a drinking water project, which was to use water from Rajanganaya tank.
