Sampur power plant receives environment approval; construction soon |
Feb 20 (LBO) The construction work of the Sampur coal power plant will start soon as the project received the environment approval early this month, Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said. Accordingly the first and second phase of this project is to be commenced within the next few months, he said. CB unexpectedly raises policy rates 50 bps |
Feb 20 (EN) Central bank raised policy rates by 50 basis points taking the rate corridor to 6.5% and 8%, barely keeping pace with banks which had already raised deposit rates by higher amounts.
