Nov 22 (SAMN) A mentally retarded, orphaned youth with rusty iron chains on his feet admitted himself to the Kandeketiya Hospital Friday, police said. The hospital staff were surprised to see the 12-year-old child who had on earlier occasions too had been in hospital seeking treatment for various ailments. Hospital Chief Medical Officer Dr. Jagath Kumara instructed the staff to remove the chains and feed the child. Dr. Kumara said according to medical reports the child had been in chains for a long time.
