Feb 26 (SAMN) The JVP and the PNM Sunday urged the Government, Norway and Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe to voice their stand on the LTTE�s claim that Tamil Eelam was recognized by the Cease-Fire Agreement (CFA). The JVP Politburo and the PNM, pointed out that the LTTE waited until the CFA completed five years, to openly accept the advantages they received and say that they gained recognition as a de facto State through the CFA.

Feb 26 (TDN) The Rural Electricity Programme commenced two projects to supply electricity to villages of the Kalwana electorate in Ratnapura district. According to the Power and Energy Ministry, rural sectors lack electricity thereby depriving people using the modern technology including computers.
